VirtualRCP for PTZ Cameras (VISCA via Network Control)
Overview
I have worked with PTZ / Robo cameras for a number of years and one thing has always plagued our productions with these things and that is the lack of ability to properly shade/color the cameras. The PTZ joystick controllers often times will give you Blue & Red control but thats just about it. To make any changes you have to hit MENU then navigate to the Exposure / Image / Color screens and thumb through a bunch of settings either with the joystick or the remote control of the PTZ camera. I just got tired of not having granular control, tired of having to pull up the PTZ Menu hoping the TD/Director doesn’t take that shot with the Menu overlay open as we try and make adjustments to the settings. So I came up with a solution for it. I call it VirtualRCP for PTZ Cameras. You can literally do almost anything with the PTZ camera that you need to, LIVE, without having to navigate the cameras menus. I have used it on a few shows already and it has really proven to be a very powerful tool in my tool bag of softwares.
